Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Boardly, a turn-based board games web application operated at boardly.games ("Boardly", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the service in any way, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You must be old enough to consent to online services in your country (typically at least 13, or 16 in some regions). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. Guest play may be offered without a full account; guest data may be limited and can be lost if you do not register.

You agree not to:

• Use Boardly for anything unlawful, harmful, or harassing toward other players.
• Cheat, exploit bugs, automate play, or interfere with games or servers.
• Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.
• Upload malware, scrape the service excessively, or overload our infrastructure.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with Boardly.

We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these rules or that we reasonably believe harm the community or the service.

You retain rights to content you provide (such as a display name or avatar). You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate Boardly (for example, showing your username in a game or on a leaderboard). Game moves, results, ratings, and related statistics are stored so we can run matches, rankings, and notifications.

Boardly is provided as an indie hobby project. We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may change, games may be added or removed, and maintenance or outages can occur without prior notice.

You may stop using Boardly at any time and can sign out from the app. You may request account deletion by emailing hello@boardly.games; we will delete or anonymize personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention needs.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service and other users. Where practical, we will explain the reason.

Boardly is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or that game outcomes or ratings are error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boardly and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to Boardly is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (typically zero for a free service) or (b) fifty euros (€50), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using Boardly.
